Ryoma Yakiniku Japanese BBQ, Canley Heights
Ryoma Japanese BBQ (Yakiniku) is a relatively new addition to the now very bustling strip of eateries in Canley Heights. There aren't many Japanese restaurants in the vicinity let alone Japanese BBQ so we checked out the menu. Their menu offers both a Buffet and Al a carte option. There are two buffet options "Satisfaction Buffet" and "Premium Buffet".
The "Satisfaction Buffet" ($39.80) is only offered on Monday - Thursday whereas the "Premium Buffet" ($49.80) is offered everyday.
With the Premium buffet you get all the options of the Satisfaction buffet plus extra choices of Sashimi and Premium choices of meat, entree dishes and meal dishes. See the menu below. Although bit pricier than other buffet BBQ places I would say the quality of meat was a lot better and fresher. Plus you get the extra entree sides!
We visited on a Monday night so it wasn't too busy however most tables were taken. It must be noted the service was rather slow as you had to order each item with the waiter/waitress and the brought it out. (So order everything in one go!) We were having trouble getting there attention; they definitely need a bell system. Furthermore, note the fine print - Last Order is 1 hour after the first order & leftovers charged at $10-$20 PER PLATE!
Also another downside is that variety of the meats available on the buffet menus. You would probably have to consider the Al a carte menu.

Some of the raw meat selection. It was definitely fresher than other BBQ buffets. Wouldn't recommend the chicken items on the Satisfaction Buffet.
Side dishes available: Takoyaki and Karaage Chicken
For the buffet option they offer Green Tea and Black Sesame Ice-cream! My favourite flavours!
We didn't get a chance to look through the Al a Carte menu which would probably suit those who want a wider variety and selection of other meats. I would definitely come back to check it out and with a larger group of people!
